Brarm Battered French Fries

Tonight I got home from class and wasn't quite hungry enough for a full meal but knew I had some potatoes that had been sitting around. I thought to myself why not try making some yummy french fries. I decided to try to incorporate some of my favorite flavors, namely parmesean cheese with another random item...bran flakes. Together, brarm!

Ingredients:
3 medium sized potatoes
1/2 cup canola oil
1/4 cup crushed bran flakes
1/4 cup grated parmesean cheese
1/4 cup water
3 tbsp pancake mix
1 tsp garlic powder or garlic salt
dash of pepper
dash of parsley

1. Peel potatoes and then slice into long even strips. Set aside in a small bowl of water.
2. In another bowl add pancake mix and just enough water so that it's slightly runny.
3. In a small bowl combine bran flakes, parmesean, garlic powder, pepper and parsley until well blended. Then add to pancake mix and blend in.

4. Take potatoes out of water and pat try.
5. In a skillet heat about 1/4 cup of canola oil on medium.
6. Add about ten potato strips to batter mixture at a time and cover until well coated. Place strips one by one into pan being careful not to splash oil on yourself and make sure they aren't touching each other. Let simmer, casually turning until the fries turn a golden brown.

7. Put fries on a plate covered in paper towel to absorb some of the extra oil. Repeat until all strips are cooked. Add more canola oil to the pan if the level starts getting low. Put on a plate and serve with your favorite dipping sauce. I recommend some ranch dressing!
